  •  This was the fifth show Metallica has played in Oakland, CA. The first time they played in Oakland was on August 31, 1985 at the Oakland Coliseum for the Day on the Green. 

  • The last time Metallica performed in Oakland was on January 19, 2003 in the parking lot of the Network Coliseum before the Raiders/Titans playoff game. 

  • For the first time since 1996, Lars was pied in celebration of his upcoming birthday on December 26. 

  • This was the first time that Blackened was performed in Oakland. 

  • For Whom the Bell Tolls has been performed each time they’ve played in Oakland.  The iconic footage of the first time can be seen on the Cliff ‘Em All DVD.
