Show Notes

  • This was the 28th time that Metallica has performed in Chicago and the surrounding areas in Northeastern Illinois.   The first time they played in Chicago was on August 12, 1983 at the Metro.
     
  • The last time Metallica played in Chicago was a two-show run in August of 2004 on the 27th and 28th at Allstate Arena.
     
  • Metallica has played the Chicago area on the following tours: Kill ‘Em All for One, Ride the Lightning, Damage, Inc., Damaged Justice, Wherever We May Roam, Nowhere Else to Roam, Summer Shit, Lollapalooza, Poor Touring Me, Poor ReTouring Me, Garage Barrage, Met-Lennium, Summer Sanitarium, Summer Sanitarium ’03, and Madly in Anger With the World.
     
  • This was the first time in almost 23 years that Ride the Lightning was performed in Chicago.  It was last played on April 5, 1986 at the Chicago Pavilion on the Damage, Inc. tour.
     
  • This was the first time in over ten years that Last Caress was performed in Chicago.  It was last played on November 19, 1998 at the Aragon Ballroom on the Garage Barrage tour.
