  • This was the 23rd time Metallica has played in New Jersey.  The first time they played the state was on April 16, 1983 in Dover, NJ.  It was Kirk Hammett’s first show as a member of the band.

  • The last time Metallica played New Jersey was on October 22, 2004 in East Rutherford on the Madly in Anger With the World tour.

  • Aside from the early club days, Metallica has played New Jersey on the following tours: Kill ‘Em All for One, Damage, Inc., Van Halen’s Monsters of Rock, Damaged Justice, Wherever We May Roam, Guns ‘N Metallica, Summer Shit, Poor Touring Me, Poor ReTouring Me, Summer Sanitarium, Summer Sanitarium 2003, and Madly in Anger With the World.

  • This was the first time in almost 20 years that ...And Justice for All was performed in New Jersey.  The last time it was played was on July 22, 1989 in East Rutherford at the Meadowlands.

  • This was the first time in 25 years that Hit the Lights was performed in New Jersey.  The last time it was played was on December 30, 1983 in Aberdeen.
