Show Notes

  • This was the eighth time that Metallica had performed in Birmingham.  The first time they played here was on September 20, 1986 at the Odeon on the Damage Inc tour.

  • This was the first time in almost 13 years that Metallica performed in Birmingham.  The last time they were here was a two-night stint on the Poor Touring Me tour on October 5 and 6, 1996.

  • This was the debut performance of My Apocalypse.

  • This was the first time in 19 years that Blackened was performed in Birmingham.  It was last played on May 25, 1990 at N.E.C. during the band’s short European Festival Tour.

  • This was the first time Metallica has played the Black Sabbath classic Hole in the Sky on tour.  It had previously been performed at the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame induction of Black Sabbath on March 13, 2006.
