  • This was the fifth show Metallica has played in Des Moines, IA and the 13th time they’ve played in the state of Iowa. The first time they played in Des Moines was on May 26, 1986 at the Iowa State Fair touring behind Master of Puppets.

  • The last time Metallica performed in Des Moines was on June 28, 1996 at Iowa State Fairgrounds on the Lollapalooza tour. This was the first time in 12 years that the band has played Des Moines.

  • Metallica has played Des Moines on the following tours: Damage Inc. (Master of Puppets), Wherever We May Roam (The Black Album), Summer Shit (Binge & Purge), and Lollapalooza (Load).

  • This was the first time that Hit the Lights was performed in Des Moines.

  • This was the first time that The Memory Remains was performed in Des Moines.
